H.E Eng. Ali Alasiri
H.E Eng. Ali Alasiri is a seasoned technology executive with broad experience across the public and private sectors in the areas of digital transformation, strategic planning, policy making and regulation. Over a more than 20 years career, he has worked across the Middle East and North America with large corporates, start-ups and government institutions, helping them plan and execute on mission-critical changes to their operating infrastructure and corporate strategies. Currently, he leads Meila Digital for GovTech, which is focused on creating next generation government platforms.
Mr. Ali Alasiri is the former Director General of Yesser eGovernment program, a Smart Government initiative that is one of the cornerstones of the Saudi government’s digitization strategy for the public sector. He also headed the National Digitization Unit (NDU) in Saudi Arabia, which is mandated to push digital economy activities in the country. Mr. Alasiri led regulation reform for Digital Government and was a key member of the committee responsible for data law and PPP for government digital products.
He has a BSc in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals; is a graduate of the Positive Leader Program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business; and has an executive certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT and an executive certificate and license from INSEAD business school as an International Board Director.
